C R Mackintosh Ceiling Lantern.

Nickel-Silver plated copper ceiling light with
leaded midnight blue petal motif glass to the four sides.

Supplied complete with ceiling rose & hanging chain, and period style silk electric flex.

Designed c1900 and used extensively at Mackintosh's flat at 120 Mains Street, Glasgow. Mackintosh then moved
them to his new house 18 Southpark Avenue in 1906 were they were used with electric fittings.
Similar designs were also used at the white room of Ingram Street Tea Rooms in 1900.
Several other examples are in the collection at the Hunterian Art Gallery, Glasgow.
