ELSLEY BRONZE

A select range of replica fittings from Portway Metal Works for the Voysey enthusiast
and Arts and Crafts home owner.

Designed by Charles Francis Annesley Voysey and originally made by Thomas Elsley Limited,
Portland Metal Works, London.

These are fine quality hand finished castings in polished brass; the patterns taken directly

from period examples. Each end with a different design of birds on flowering branches.

Bell Pull ends designed c1899-1901 to take 4" wide fabric, as used by Voysey in his own home

the Orchard, and subsequently supplied to other houses and interiors that he designed.

It is likely that the original fabric bell-pulls were specially woven in a small workshop such as that of Edmund Hunter (1866-1937) at Haslemere from 1902 to 1908 and then at Letchworth.
